Honeydew melon

Honeydew first grew in the Middle East. Most honeydew has green or white flesh, while the fruit of fresh honeydew is bright orange in color.

Honeydew melon and cantaloupe are two members of the same species, Cucumis melo. Although they are closely related, they’re two different fruits. They are both sweet, but their appearance is different.

Honeydew melons are especially sweet and delicious, even though they only contain 8g of sugar per 100 grams. It also provides fiber and other nutrients that may help improve blood sugar control over time.

As honeydew melon is a low-sodium and potassium-rich fruit, it may help maintain healthy blood pressure levels. The high potassium in honeydew melon helps with electrolyte balance in the body. The water and potassium content in honeydew melon helps prevent dehydration.

Eating honeydew may help strengthen bones and prevent the development of certain conditions, including osteoporosis. That’s because honeydew contains several key nutrients that are essential for human bone health, including folate and Vitamin K.
