Papain in papaya fruit

Papaya juice nutritional highlight is its enzymes, specifically papain, a protein digestant (especially food with gluten). Concentrated amounts can especially be found in unripe papaya. Papain is renowned for its anti-cancer and skin-cleansing properties.

This proteolytic enzyme can breaks long chain protein molecules into smaller fragments. The enzymes in fresh papaya juice helps flush the entire gastrointestinal system by digesting and neutralizing excess protein and fat found there.

This enzyme helps prevent the accumulation of mucoprotein (partially digested protein) in the body and lymphatic system. In fact, papain has been extracted to make dietary supplements for digestion. Thus, the unripe papaya is considered to have more healing powers for constipation than the ripe one.

If consumed in a regular basis, enzymes in papaya fruit juice can also enter the bloodstream and aid in cleansing the tissues, organs and muscles of these same excess.
