Clementine

Fruit is sweet, very juicy, fragrant, small to medium size tree with weeping habit; bitter crop with pollinator, holds well on tree, ripens easy fall to winter.

The fruit develops good flavor in districts to cool in summer for good flavor of most other mandarins and apparently has a better flavor.

The Clementine was originally detected in Algeria and is becoming one of the most important mandarins in the world. It was introduced to California in 1914.

Clementine is actually not one variety but a group of variety that includes the varieties Fina, Marisol, Esbal, Oroval, Clemenules and others.

It is a rich source of essential nutrients. The health benefits associated with their consumption include fulfillment of vitamin C requirements. The bioactive molecules present in the fruits are limonoids, polymethoxy, and flavor glycosylates.

The components hold several healths promoting perspective include: antioxidant activity, anticancer, and antiatherogenic.

Clementine is a cross between a mandarin and a butter Seville orange. Clementines have juicy flesh – some varieties are virtually seedless and loose, smooth easy to peel skin.
