Minerals in banana

Bananas are popular everywhere. The ripe fruit is luscious and juicy. Chemicals analysis shows the banana to contain: water 73.3 %; proteins 1.3 %; fat 0,06 %; total carbohydrate 22%; minerals element 0.8 %.

Banana contains minerals such as calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, copper, sulfur, chlorine, sodium and potassium. Lime and iron exist in but small amount.

Banana is a leading fruit source of potassium. One medium banana contains close to 400 mg of potassium which a mineral that plays a role in lowering high blood pressure.

Other studies shows that increasing intake of potassium by eating banana reduces the risk of dying from cardiovascular disease and also stroke.

Banana contains relatively high iron content. Frequent consumption of banana reduces the risk of kidney cancer and other disorders related to the kidney and urinary tract.
